Tejendra Tamrakar

Tejendra Tamrakar’s family is from the Rajim area of Chhattisgarh.  Tejendra was brought up in Bhilai where his father works as an Assistant General Manager in MECON, a metallurgical and engineering consultancy.

He has a BA in linguistics, social science and political science from and is currently doing an MA in Sociology from Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University.  He also has a Diploma in Desktop Publishing from “BRAINS”, a course affiliated with Makhanlal Chaturvedi University, Bhopal.

He has been learning the Sitar under Guru Shishya Parampara from Pt. Bimlendu Mukharjee.

In Jandarshan Tejendra specialised in sound and editing but also showed a strong interest and ability in research, writing and direction.  Together with Raghvendra he was selected to visit the British and German partners in Sheffield and Goettingen. While in Germany he and Raghvendra had a first experience of filming abroad in a foreign language when they collaborated on a short film about a German farm

After training he joined Jandarshan, Raipur where he has been working mainly as sound recordist, director and editor.  He married in 2001 and lives in Raipur with his wife in a joint family with his grandfather.
